Having an extensive background in food services, we take pride in providing excellent service to our customers. But we don't take ourselves too seriously. Buying a cupcake shouldn't be a hassle. We understand the value of fun! And that attitude shows in our presentation. With an eclectic/funky/Victorian theme for the business, attractive uniforms, and exquisite cupcakes, we're here to help you enjoy yourself.

CB'S CUPCAKES... How the Company Got Started
 The question which got us started... "Why Not?" Why not offer cupcakes and let the customer choose their favorite frosting and topping? Why not hand frost every cupcake to order? Why not offer the delicious indulgence of cupcakes at malls, fairs, and other places where people are looking to have a good time? Why not offer delicious southern style sweet tea as well? Why not indeed!
At the San Diego Fair in 2007, CB's Cupcakes founder, Connie Barham considered several food service ideas, one of them being cupcakes. When she floated the idea to other food vendors, the cupcake got shot down.
By the time the Los Angeles County Fair came in September, the idea was back on the table thanks to employees named Sara and Bridget. Within two months, a trailer was being redesigned and CB's Cupcakes was booked into the WFA Convention, which happened to be in San Diego that year. Within weeks of the convention, another trailer and three carts were being built due to the booking needs.
Why the fairs, and not a store location? According to Connie Barham, that was the easy part. They had been involved on the fairgrounds for years with Hot Dog on a Stick Fair Co. The company was founded by Connie's father-in-law and has remained in the family for three generations.
CB's Cupcakes still needed some sort of an attraction to be competitive. Frosting to order and choosing a topping seemed a natural. At Hot Dog on a Stick Fair Co., patrons see hot dogs cooked fresh... so why not cupcakes decorated your way?!
Hot Dog on a Stick Fair Co. serves Fresh Lemonade, so it seemed necessary to come up with a special drink for the cupcake. So, they decided on a southern favorite, Sweet Tea.
"Fast, fresh, and friendly" was always the motto at Hot Dog on a Stick Fair Co., so coming up with "Let Us Sweeten Your Day" seemed to fit right in.
Expanding CB's Cupcakes to shopping malls was never considered, says Connie... until they started receiving letters of interest from a number of southern California malls requesting us for carts. Today, CB's Cupcakes has a mall location in the Westfield Plaza - UTC, in San Diego North County. And, we're always open to consider other great locations.
